The deadline for submisson of application for Newborn Screening Center in Northern Luzon has been extended up to November 15, 2009.

The setting up of NSC is part of the strategic plan of the National Comprehensive Newborn Screening System and in pursuance to the Implementing Rules of Republic ACt 9288 otherwise known as the Nebworn Screening Act of 2004, "the establishment and accreditation of either free-standing or hospital-based NSC shall be phased... there shall be four (4) NSCs to serve the whole country."

The NSC in Northern Luzon will be the 4th Newborn Screening laboratory in the country to  be set-up.
